Chief Colwell joined the Chillum Adelphi Volunteer Fire Department on August 30, 1971. Since then, Chief Colwell was a dedicated member of the department holding every operational rank in the department and became chief in 1982.
Chief Colwell served as a Board of Director for many years and served on numerous committees and represented the department at the County and State Association meetings. Chief Colwell also served as a Volunteer Fingerprint Technician for the Maryland State Police.
Chief Colwell’s dedication and commitment to the department and his family will be missed.
