pWhile crews were at Station 55 paying their respects for the passing of Chief 1A Jimmy Hook the box was sounded for the apartment fire in the 6300 blk of Landover Rd. in Company 33s area. Units from Company 9 and 33 arrived to find a 3 story apartment building with smoke showing. Chief 34 ran the initial alarm as Battalion Chief 4 and was assigned to Division 3 by command. Truck 34 was alerted as the first due truck on the second alarm. Truck 34 arrived on scene and took a position on side Charlie of the apartment complex. Units on scene had fire in the pipe chases that made its way to the cockloft. Truck 34 was advised to go to the roof and ventilate. Units from 34 and 33 cut a 20×20 vent hole above the fire apartment. While units were operating the tillerman from Truck 34 fell off a ground ladder from the 3rd floor. Fortunately that member was not hurt but was taken to PG Trauma Center as a precaution. We are glad to say that he is back and is doing fine. Truck 34 cleared the call at 2130 hrs.p
