Live in members of the department generally recieve the best experience and training in the shortest amount of time. The amount of calls that the live in members respond to, coupled with the increased level of involvement in station affairs makes for an invaluable experience that will positively contribute to a person's career in the fire service. For details of the live in program, please visit the Live In section. However, a short list of additional benefits that live in members are entitled to is provided here:

- Rent free place to live - Dresser, closet, bed, desk, and broadband internet connection
- Ability to establish residency at the firehouse
- Firehouse is located about a mile away from the University of Maryland
- Also located in a convenient location to the following schools:

• University of Maryland Baltimore County
• American University
• Catholic University
• Montgomery College
• Prince Georges Community College
• Georgetown University
• and any other university in the DC Metro area!
