Around dinnertime, the crew from 34 was alerted to Wildwood Drive in Takoma Park for the house fire with people trapped. Engine 343 responded with 8 personnel as the 2nd due engine. After Company 2 arrived with fire showing, the Bomberos got on scene and advanced a backup line to the 2nd floor to extinguished some minimal extension. During the operation, the red helmet decided to break his hand throwing a ladder. Although no firefighters on the scene were injured, the rookie from Engine 343 was transported to MedSTAR. The trauma staff prescribed him some "man up" pills, gave him 15 LPM of testosterone, and discharged him after they stopped laughing.
